TAONGA TUKU IHO
Maori-owned and made in Aotearoa, raw and refined taonga inspired by indigenous design
OUR FIRST DROP IN THE OCEAN, NAU MAI MATA
Inspired by the raw beauty of Te Moana-nui-a-Kiwa, the Daughter of Tangaroa Necklace is handcrafted from locally sourced abalone shell, Swarovski imitation pearls, Japanese Miyuki beads, and gold-plated hardware, centred around a rare deadstock pāua medallion. Actual wearable art, each necklace has its own distinct oceanic character.
To preserve the life of your piece, we recommend avoiding water, salt, and moisture. Maritime lore warns against wearing jewellery at the water’s edge, where beauty is said to invite the vanity and jealousy of sea spirits.
